On Saturday April 22 fro 4-7 Somerset will celebrate Earth Day with a group bike ride from the town Hall down Cumberland Ave., along The Little Falls, and up and over Falstone Hill to the pool. The ride is not long but some will find it a challenge, and so we urge all participants to work together to keep the group in order. In this way we recognize the role our own individual and collective physiologies have in the challenge of stewarding our natural world. The ride will also serve as a live forum in which participants can dialogue on safety issues and concerns related to bike riding in real-time.
Then we will break bread on the bridge with neighbors. Play music. Dance around the fire pit. Take time to forge relationships, build a sense of camaraderie, foster a positive outlook regarding environmental stewardship and regarding physical and spiritual well-being. Inspect and perform maintenance on bikes. Pull a few weeds. Pick up trash. Hear and talk about environmental and natural resource issues in Town.
