About the Council
Marnie Shaul - Term expires 2019
Marnie Shaul was elected to the Town Council in 2007, and has served as President of the Council since 2008. She has focused on improving the Town’s infrastructure, budget, personnel policies, and on enhancing community spirit. During her professional career, she worked at the United States Government Accountability Office where she did research for Congress on topics such as K-12 education and airline competition. She also worked in the Department of Development for the State of Ohio. She has a Ph.D. in economics from The Ohio State University.

Franny Peale - Term expires 2019
Franny Peale has lived in Somerset since 2000 where she and her husband have raised three children. She became a Council Member in 2012. She is a graduate of Harvard University, received a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and practiced corporate and securities law. She has volunteered at Somerset Elementary School as a room parent and classroom aide, for the PTA as kindergarten orientation organizer, and for the Somerset Elementary School Foundation. Her interests include various craft hobbies, and she enjoys reading, yard work and exercising.

Barbara Zeughauser - Term expires 2019
Barbara Zeughauser has lived in Somerset since 1985 with her husband George Schlossberg and her two children, Elizabeth and Will. In 2006, she retired as the Director of Paralegals at a large national law firm, after a 27 year career. She was first elected to the Somerset Town Council in 2009. During the school year, she works as a substitute teacher at a small primary school. In her free time, she enjoys walking her dog, Sydney, around Somerset, seeing others along the way, as well as jogging through the neighborhood and on the Crescent Trail.
