Helping Hand was started in 2007 to foster neighborly support in Somerset. There is now a list of 30 volunteers, including neighbors with four-wheel drive vehicles, who will help Somerset residents with rides to medical appointments, business appointments, social appointments, and shopping trips when they cannot make it on their own. The group will also assist with light bulb replacements and the like.
Neighbors can email hhsomerset@gmail.com or call either Barbara Zeughauser, Kathleen Kenyon, or Jim Berry (see the directory for contact information) to request assistance or to volunteer. In the years that this neighborly service has been functioning, there has been only one request that could not be filled. Try them out!
