At the Town Council Meeting on October 2nd, the Town Council established the Somerset Youth Council, an exciting new opportunity for the Town that seeks to foster community, increase youth engagement, & educate about the local government process. Applications for the inaugural cohort ran from mid-October to just after Thanksgiving. Those applicants nominated to the Youth Council will be apporved at the December Town Council Meeting on December 4 & they will begin meeting in January.
This is a chance for Somerset youth to make a real impact on our community, learn about local government, & have a voice in shaping our Town's future.
In addition, as the inaugural cohort, students will have the unique opportunity to shape the Somerset Youth Council. They will help decide what issues the Youth Council addresses, its goals, & how it functions. This is a chance to be part of something meaningful & create a lasting impact in our community.
