Major services include trash, recycling, and compost service; snow & leaf removal; the Town Pool and other recreational facilities, Town Hall rentals, election information, notary services, permitting, and regulations. Emergency Services The main source of police protection in Somerset comes from Montgomery County’s Second District police force. Somerset also employs, part-time, off-duty Montgomery County police officers as a secondary source of police protection. These officers work nonstructured schedules on various days and times throughout the year.

Utilities Town utilities are provided through the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) for water and sewer, Washington Gas for gas, and Pepco for electricity.
